- An
'Urnest' Kind of Show
- -You Don't
Have to be Dead to Use One
"Our new show depicts art honouring life; a concept explored
for the first time by many of us. Over the summer we made urns
for holding ashes (or coffee?), and to show how life and death
inspire art.
"Although the pieces are all made of clay, the potters have
a wide range of techniques on display, from raku to stoneware
to smoke-fired earthenware. Some of the pieces are light-hearted,
some are spiritual; all are expressions of beauty to honour beautiful
lives.
"The 18 pieces in the show reflect not only the artists'
personalities, but possibly that of someone you care deeply about
as well."

- The exhibition
took place at Cunliffe House Gallery, Community Arts Council
of Kamloops, from September 25 to October 8, 2003.
